Director
Karla is the Preschool Director & teaches the Frog Class
3-year-olds
Karla graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Her passion for teaching preschoolers began over 20 years ago when she started teaching Bible classes at church. In 2010, she followed that passion and embarked on the fascinating and rewarding journey of teaching 3-year-olds at a preschool. In 2015 she joined the staff at Triumphant Lutheran Preschool. In 2022, she became the director at TLP and has enjoyed her new role working with parents and leading the staff. She and her husband, Doug, have 3 adult children.
Amanda teaches the Bears Class
18 month - 2-year-olds
Amanda is in her 3rd year at Triumphant Lutheran Preschool. She is from San Antonio, Texas, and graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Communication Design. She has been active in teaching roles for over 30 years---from the church nursery & elementary Sunday School classes, to training new employees in the customer service industry, to the challenging role of homeschooling two toddlers during Covid. Teaching has always been a part of her life. She has two kids in elementary school, one of which graduated from TLP.
Sarah teaches the Ladybug Class
T/Th/F 4's
Sarah was born and raised in Wisconsin. After becoming a Navy wife, she and her family lived in different places, including Virginia, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Spain, and now Texas. She loved being a military wife but now that her husband is retired, they are excited to call San Antonio home!!
She went to Valparaiso University in Indiana and graduated with a BS in Elementary Education.
She has taught 3rd grade, Kindergarten, and Pre-K, with Pre-K being her absolute favorite.
She has three children: Alexander (22, a senior at Texas A&M), Sam (19, a freshman at Northeast Lakeview), and Annaliese (16, a junior at Johnson HS) who, as you can imagine, keep her quite busy!

Jutta teaches the Owl Class
3-year-olds
She grew up in Germany and earned her degree in Early Childhood Education there. She has been a teacher for around 20 years and is passionate about working with young children to help them grow and thrive. In 2022, her and her family moved from Lexington KY to New Braunfels TX.
She is married and has two wonderful boys – one in 3rd grade and the other in kindergarten. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with family, and exploring the beautiful area she now calls home. This is her first year at TLP. She is excited to get to know all of her students and their families and to be a part of this amazing community. Shes looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and fun!
Val teaches the Butterfly Class
Kindergarten
Val is a retired Kindergarten teacher of 25 years.
She graduated from Angelo State University with
a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Val went
through the Alternative certification program to
pursue her degree in education. She has 2 adult
children, a son and daughter in law, and 2
grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys
lettering, volunteering at church and the Doseum
and spending time with friends and family.
Val says, “My love for teaching continues as I pursue my journey with TLP”.
Whitney teaches the Fish Class
Older 2's
Whitney graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a dual Bachelor's degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. She taught special education in the public school setting for 5 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. As her children entered preschool, she decided to teach and has been doing so ever since. Whitney and her husband have 2 children, and her youngest is a TLP graduate. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, volunteering at church, and cheering for her kids at their sporting events.
Kristin teaches the Llama Class
M/W/F 4's
Kristin graduated from Martin Luther college with a Bachelor's degree in Education. She taught first grade for one year before getting married. She and her husband, Dave have 7 children, 4 of whom attended TLP. Besides teaching preschool, Kristin enjoys teaching music lessons from home.

Kristina teaches the Bee Class
4-day Enrichment 4-year-olds
Kristina originally attended Texas A&M University, where she met Jack. They fell in love and got married. He joined the Air Force, which sent them to Pensacola, FL for training. She was able to transfer to the University of West Florida, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She has taught various grades, but decided she enjoys Pre-K the most.

She and Jack have three children. The youngest two are TLP graduates.
We are blessed with some amazing assistant teachers as well!
Ms. Michelle, Ms. Melissa, Ms. Brianna, Ms. Marianna, Ms. Katrina & Ms. Alissa. We also love our substitute teachers! Not pictured, Ms. Amy and Ms. Kristin.
